This age group are entitled to a FREE NHS eye exam, as they are more at risk of eye problems such as cataracts and macular degeneration and Glaucoma.

Don't feel that you can only have an eye exam every two years, if you are having problems with your eyes or your vision contact your optician for an appointment immediately.

Remember, an eye examination does much more than check if you need new glasses. It also
monitors the health of your eyes for possible conditions such as those already mentioned plus
other problems like blood pressure and diabetes. Early detection increases the chances of
successful treatment of them all.
