About Sports Vision

Sports vision incorporates vision screening and testing of sportsmen, the prescription of sunglasses and protective eyewear, the management of eye injuries and vision enhancement to improve performance.

About Alex Gage

I am one of few optometrists with a diploma in sports vision and have launched a specialist Sports Vision facility from my Crookes Road practice in the heart of Sheffield's student community. I am an independent optometrist and can therefore source eyewear, prescribe and fit contact lenses from any optical supplier. I am currently working with colleagues at the English Institute for Sport and the national Rugby Football League coaching team. I have also started to explore the opportunities of incorporating my skills and technology into the Zenjin Golf Performance programme at Sheffield Hallam University.
